MarkerPen is operated by Jigsaw Software Development Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms.

The service

MarkerPen generates draft feedback on student work using AI, against the instructions and criteria you provide. It is an assistant, not an examiner: you review and approve all feedback before use, and you remain responsible for any assessment decisions communicated to students. AI output can contain errors.

Your content

You retain all rights to what you upload and to the feedback you save. You grant us the limited licence needed to store and process it to provide the service. You confirm you are entitled to upload the content you submit, including student work, and that you will use the service in line with your institution's policies.

Acceptable use

No unlawful content, no attempts to breach security or extract other users' data, no reselling of the service, and no use that would breach a student's reasonable expectations of privacy.

Plans and payment

The free plan includes a monthly allowance of marks. Paid plans (£15/month or £150/year at current pricing, including any applicable taxes) are sold by Onelink, a Stripe company, as seller of record - their terms of sale govern the purchase. You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Prices shown in your local currency at checkout.

Service and liability

We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practicable.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
